1. Overview

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds and cancellations for Matcha Notify's subscription service.

2. Subscription Plans

We offer two subscription plans:

  • Monthly: $4.99 USD/month (includes 7-day free trial)
  • Yearly: $19.99 USD/year
  • Recurring charges based on your chosen billing cycle
  • Processed through Whop payment platform

3. Free Trial (Monthly Plan)

The monthly plan includes a 7-day free trial. Your payment method will not be charged during the trial period.

How the free trial works:

  • Your card is not charged when you start the trial
  • You have full access to Matcha Notify for 7 days at no cost
  • If you cancel before the 7 days are up, your card will not be charged at all
  • If you do not cancel, your payment method will be automatically charged $4.99 at the end of the trial period and monthly thereafter

To cancel during the trial: Log in to your Whop account, navigate to your active memberships, select Matcha Notify, and click "Cancel Subscription" before the 7 days expire.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 General Policy

We do not offer refunds once a billing cycle has been charged.

Because the monthly plan includes a free trial, you have 7 days to evaluate the service before any charge is made. All sales are considered final once your payment method has been charged.

Exceptions:

  • Extraordinary circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Contact us via our Whop support chat to discuss your specific situation

4.2 Forgotten Cancellations

Forgotten cancellations are not eligible for a refund.

If you forget to cancel your subscription during the free trial or forget you have an active subscription after being charged, this is NOT a valid reason for a refund.

Examples (NOT eligible for refund):

  • "I forgot I had this subscription"
  • "I meant to cancel during the trial but forgot"
  • "I wasn't using the service and forgot to cancel"
  • "I didn't check my Discord and forgot I was subscribed"

You are responsible for:

  • Canceling before the trial ends if you do not wish to be charged
  • Keeping track of your active subscriptions
  • Monitoring your payment statements

4.3 Termination for Misconduct

No Refunds for Terms of Service Violations

If your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service or Discord community rules (harassment, spam, NSFW content, hate speech, etc.), you are NOT eligible for a refund, regardless of when the violation occurred.

5. Service Performance Issues

5.1 Technical Problems

If you experience technical issues with the Service:

Before Requesting a Refund:

  1. Contact our support team via our Whop support chat
  2. Allow us 48 hours to investigate and resolve the issue
  3. We will work with you to fix technical problems

Refund Eligibility:

  • If we cannot resolve technical issues within 7 days of your purchase, you may be eligible for a refund
  • Issues must be on our end (not Discord service interruptions or third-party problems)

6. What Is NOT Covered

Refunds will NOT be provided for:

6.1 Product Availability

  • Inability to purchase matcha products after receiving notifications
  • Products selling out before you can complete purchase
  • Third-party retailer issues or policies
  • Limited stock availability

6.2 Third-Party Services

  • Discord service interruptions or outages
  • Discord account suspensions or bans
  • Retailer website downtime
  • Payment processor fees

6.3 User Error

  • Forgetting to check Discord notifications
  • Muted or disabled Discord notifications
  • Incorrect Discord server settings
  • Not following restock alerts promptly

6.4 Expectation Misalignment

  • Fewer restocks than expected
  • Specific brands not restocking frequently
  • Notification timing not matching your availability
  • General dissatisfaction after the 7-day period

6.5 Discord Community Violations

  • Bans or kicks for violating community rules
  • Termination for harassment, spam, or inappropriate content
  • Multiple warnings leading to permanent ban
  • Violation of Discord's Terms of Service

6.6 Forgotten Cancellations

  • Forgetting you had an active subscription
  • Not using the service but forgetting to cancel
  • Not checking Discord and forgetting about membership
  • Any variation of "I forgot to cancel"

7. Refund Process

7.1 How to Request a Refund

Step 1: Contact us via our Whop support chat with:

  • Your order number or email used for purchase
  • Reason for refund request
  • Date of purchase

Step 2: Wait for Response

  • We will respond within 2 business days
  • We may ask for additional information

Step 3: Approval Process

  • Eligible refunds will be approved within 3-5 business days
  • You will receive a confirmation email

Step 4: Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed through Whop
  • Funds will be returned to your original payment method
  • Processing time: 5-10 business days depending on your bank

7.2 What Happens After Refund Approval

Upon refund approval:

  • Your access to the Matcha Notify Discord server will be immediately removed
  • You will no longer receive restock notifications
  • Your account will be deactivated
  • All Discord roles and permissions will be revoked
  • You may not re-subscribe with the same email address for 30 days (to prevent abuse)

7.3 Subscription Cancellation Process

To cancel your subscription (without requesting a refund):

  1. Log in to your Whop account at whop.com
  2. Navigate to your active memberships
  3. Select "Matcha Notify" and click "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation

Note: Canceling during the free trial stops all future charges and you will not be billed. Canceling after the trial period has ended stops future charges but does not issue a refund for the current billing period.

8. Chargebacks and Disputes

8.1 Contact Us First

Before initiating a chargeback with your bank:

  • Contact us via our Whop support chat to resolve the issue before initiating a chargeback
  • Chargebacks cost us fees and damage our merchant standing
  • We will work in good faith to resolve disputes

8.2 Chargeback Policy

If you initiate a chargeback:

  • Your account will be immediately suspended
  • We will provide evidence of service delivery to your bank
  • If the chargeback is found to be fraudulent, we may pursue legal action
  • You will be permanently banned from using the Service

9. Processing Fees

Refund Amounts:

  • Full refunds within 7 days: 100% refund to original payment method
  • Payment processing fees (charged by Whop/payment processor) are non-refundable in all cases
